about

The song reflects on impermanence, our self-destructive nature, and the inevitable end of human existence due to our careless actions.

lyrics

Theres a time and a place
when the whole human race
will simply cease to exist

when everybody combusts
in to ashes and dust
will we even be missed

it’s a serious a crime
the way we squander our time
on our selfish pursuits
we consume without shame
never taking the blame
its time to reboot

chorus
perhaps on a night
maybe soon
underneath
the pale light
of a full
harvest moon
when there’s
nobody left
to gaze up at the stars
we should think about how fragile we are

verse 3
a deadly virus or war
maybe a big meteor
will it be cosmic rays

we’re at the end of our rope
just abandon all hope
and let’s cut to the chase

chorus
perhaps on a night
maybe soon
underneath
the pale light
of a full
harvest moon
when there’s
nobody left
to gaze up at the stars
we should think about how fragile we are

BRIDGE
on this big blue marble
spinning out in space
we’ve cut off all our noses
and they can not be replaced

our lease is almost over
a simple truth we all must face
listen as i posit
we’re losing our deposit
for tearing up the place

OUTRO
perhaps on a night
maybe soon
underneath
the pale light
of a full
harvest moon
please forgive me
for bumming
you out with
this gloom
but it wont be
too long
before we
all go boom
and there’s
nobody left
to gaze up at the stars
who will think about how fragile we are
